LOCAL: Gov. Abbott and Texas A&M AgriLife Extension have launched a free, web-based, training to expand the number of certified New World Screwworm inspectors. The training can be found at https://agrilifelearn.tamu.edu. Although the program is designed to produce certified inspectors any Texan can participate in the online training for educational purposes……This week Tumbleweed Smith announced his final program will take place on July 31, 2026. Tumbleweed has been a staple on the KPAN airwaves and a number of radio stations across the state bringing Texas history, folklore, small towns, unique events, colorful characters and story tellers to the ears of millions for 57 years. His program is aired weekdays at 7:45 on KPAN…… Panhandle Community Services is taking applications for their Comprehensive Energy Assistance Program. Eligible low-income households can qualify for assistance with utility bills, HVAC repairs and replacements.
