LOCAL: Xcel Energy has announced a proposed portfolio of new power generation projects totaling 3,928 megawatts through various generation sources with plans to be online by 2030. The proposal includes five solar generation projects, one solar and battery storage generation project, four wind generation project and one natural gas generation project. In the announcement Xcel says they anticipate filing proposed large load tariffs in Texas and New Mexico requiring high-demand customers, including data centers, to cover the costs needed to serve them. The proposed portfolio remains subject to regulatory review and approval……Funeral services for Travis Glen Wilson, age 73, are today at 1:00, at 8998 Dickson Road, on Eagle Mountain Lake, in Fort Worth. Glen was a former Hereford resident and jack of all trades. His favorite role he ever held was being a Pawpaw. His grandchildren were among his favorite joys in life. He died on July 20, in Fort Worth……Palo Duro Canyon reached 108° yesterday according to a Texas Tech Mesonet site on the canyon floor. Widespread 100°+ temps were found from the Panhandle to far west Texas.
