LOCAL: This Friday, May 22, community members are asked to volunteer to help place American flags on veterans graves ahead of Memorial Day. Flags and lists of graves will be provided beginning at 7:30 on Friday morning at West Park Cemetery. There are graves in West Park Cemetery, St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery and Restlawn Memorial Park that will need covered……HISD Board of Trustees approved the consolidation of the HPA and HJH campuses into one school. Hereford Junior High will go back to housing 6th-8th grades. D’Ann Blair was named principal of the junior high……Funeral services for Dora Gonzales, age 89, are today at 11:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. She worked in childcare for many years in Hereford. She died on Monday in Amarillo……Funeral services for Joseph “Joe” Reinauer, Jr., age 84, are next Thursday, May 28, at 11:30 at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, in Pensacola, FL. Joe was a Hereford High grad and former longtime Hereford resident. He died on May 1st……Storms will likely struggle to get much rainfall to the ground today as they fight through dryer lower levels. Hail will be the main hazard with developed thunderstorms in the area.
