LOCAL: Pantex opened a new High Explosives Science and Engineering facility this month. The new facility combines activities performed at 15 WWII-era sites. The structure was under construction for five years and funding was secured through the National Defense Authorization Act and annual appropriations with the help of Rep. Ronny Jackson. Jackson highlighted the facility in a press release yesterday that says since taking office, Jackson has secured $136.36 million in funding for the HESE facility……This year’s FFA State Convention t-shirt will feature artwork by HHS student Emma Arredondo. Arredondo’s winning graphic features a cow, florals, gavel, an outline of Texas and the FFA emblem. The state convention takes place in Fort Worth, July 6th-10th……All personal items not on gravestones should be removed from West Park Cemetery by Sunday evening. Cleanup crews will begin disposing of all items not removed on Monday morning……Downburst wind gusts could reach 75 mph this afternoon and is the main severe hazard with thunderstorms. Hail is also a possible hazard today but less than the wind threat.
