LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Commissioners met in a regular session at 9:00 this morning at the Deaf Smith County Courthouse. Commissioners looked at approving renovations for the tax office and justice of the peace office, heard a quarterly jail report and met in an executive closed session……HISD Board of Trustees will meet in a special session this evening at 6:00 to work through an 11-item agenda. They’ll canvass election results, discuss consolidating Hereford Junior High and Hereford Preparatory Academy, and meet in an executive session. The meeting is at the Administration Building Board Room and is open to the public……Ismael De Loera will sign with Eureka College to play soccer this week. The Hereford High School senior will officially become a Red Devil at a signing ceremony tomorrow afternoon at 3:00 at the Hereford High School Library. Eureka College is in Eureka, Illinois. It’s a private college that was founded in 1855……A stretch of summer-like temps begins today and lasting through the weekend. A Heat Advisory has been issued for Palo Duro Canyon this afternoon when temps will approach the 105° mark.
