LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Commissioners are meeting for a 9-item agenda this morning at 9:00 at the courthouse. Several items relate to existing tax abatements and possible amendments to those abatements with Tierra Blanco Solar, LLC., and Mule Deer Solar, LLC. The meeting is open to the public……Hereford senior outfielder, Parker Schertz, hit a walk-off single in the Herd’s, 2-1, win over Borger on Friday. The Whitefaces are 7-3 in district play and will host Perryton this afternoon at 5:00 at Whiteface Field. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage……The Lady Herd are coming off a big win over Borger on Friday also and will host the Rangerettes for a 4:30 start. Hereford is 3-9 in district softball play……Funeral services for Arnold “Arnie” Artho, age 74, are today at 10:30 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He died on March 24th……Funeral services for Kathryn Musser, age 80, are Saturday at 10:00 at the Central Church of Christ. Visitation is Friday from 6:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. She died on Thursday in Amarillo……Another windy day is in-store with elevated fire weather conditions in the Hereford area and critical-extreme conditions across much of the Panhandle. Winds will increase through the day with gusts around 45 mph expected for the Hereford area this afternoon.
