LOCAL: HISD Board of Trustees will meet in a special session Thursday evening at 6:00 at the Administration Building. They’ll work through an 8-item agenda that includes taking action on bids for roof repairs at Hereford Junior High and a board training for Evaluating and Improving Student Outcomes with Region 16. The meeting is open to the public……A fatal accident occurred east of Farwell on FM 145 early Tuesday morning. Christian Alberto Cano, age 23, of Farwell, was traveling east on FM 145 when he veered into the westbound lane and struck a 2015 Volvo semi-truck. Cano’s vehicle rolled over and caught fire and he was pronounced deceased at the scene. The crash happened at 5:49 AM, and remains under investigation by the Amarillo DPS office…… Funeral services for Luz Elena Baca-Solis, age 75, are today at 1:00 at Calvary Family Church……Funeral services for Rosie Griffin Klein, age 83, are tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the Getz Funeral Home in Las Cruces, NM……Funeral services for Fidel Ortiz, age 78, are Friday morning at 11:00 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Fidel was a longtime area resident who died on Saturday in Amarillo.
