LOCAL: Sam Detten and Pete Van Adrichem were awarded the Lonestar Degree at this year’s Texas FFA State Convention, in Fort Worth. The Lonestar Degree is the highest honor awarded to Texas FFA members, and only 2-3% of members will receive the degree. The degree requires 2 years of active FFA membership, 360 hours of ag science at or above a 9th grade level, participation in five different FFA activities and maintaining a satisfactory academic record among the requirements……The convention wraps up tomorrow at the Fort Worth Convention Center, and you still have a chance to get this year’s t-shirt that was designed by HHS student, Emma Arredondo. KPAN shared the Hereford FFA Facebook post that can be replied to or private messaged to place an order today. Emma also won a $1,000 prize that was awarded to the Hereford FFA Chapter at convention this week……The City of Hereford will spray for mosquitos this evening, weather permitting.
