LOCAL: The Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce will host Party in the Park, on Saturday, July 4. The event will run from 10:00-10:30 at Dameron Park. The parade is coordinated through the Hereford VFW Post at 806-346-1514. Vendor booth registration is through the Knights of Columbus at 806-344-7341, or for Spanish at 806-444-0571. The parade will begin at 10:00 on Saturday morning along the normal route followed by activities in Dameron Park throughout the day, and a firework show culminating the celebration on Saturday night…… The Texas Panhandle War Memorial Center is hosting “A Walk Through History,” on Friday evening at 6:00 at 4111 S. Georgia, in Amarillo. The event will feature a reading of the Declaration of Independence and several historical military speeches ahead of Independence Day……Funeral services for Maria Ofelia Enriquez, age 88, are this morning at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Ofelia was a longtime Hereford resident and proud homemaker……The Hereford Economic Development Corporation meets tomorrow afternoon at 4:30, at the Civic Center, in a regular session. They’ll look at proposals from Spicer Gripp and Panhandle Pallets among the 11-items on the agenda.
