LOCAL: Izak Dominguez broke his own record to win the district championship in the 110m hurdles this week. Izak ran his first sub-14 time in UIL competition with a 13.85 for a new Hereford High School record. Izak also won the 300m hurdles and qualified for area in both events. The Lady Whiteface mile-relay team of Sol Lara, Gabriella Gonzalez, Jocelyn Graves and Arissa Alaniz placed 3rd and qualified for area. Area qualifiers in field events included; Brix Machen – 2nd, high jump; Jaxon Lucio – 2nd, triple jump; Eddie Becerril – 3rd, triple jump; Azlyn Zallar – District Champ, shot put; Gabriella Gonzalez – 2nd, triple jump; and Taylor Hill – 3rd, pole vault……Herd teams are on the diamond at home today. The Whitefaces host the Borger Bulldogs for a 5:00 first pitch at Whiteface Field. The Lady Whitefaces get going at 4:30 against the Lady Bulldogs and KPAN will have live coverage from Lady Whiteface Field this afternoon……Funeral services for Kyle Lytal, age 61, are tomorrow at 10:30 at the Central Church of Christ. Kyle had a deep love for live music and was a regular blood donor. He died on February 12, in Fort Worth…… Funeral services for Arnold “Arnie” Artho, age 74, are Tuesday at 10:30 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Vigil and Rosary is Monday evening at 6:00 at the church. Mr. Artho was a lifelong Hereford resident who died on March 24……KPAN recorded a trace of rain from high based storms yesterday afternoon.
