LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board of Directors meet in a regular session Thursday afternoon at 5:30 to work through a lengthy, 13-item, agenda. They’ll hold a public hearing regarding tax abatement guidelines, look to adopt those guidelines and then look at tax abatement agreements with Intersect Power and Google LLC. The meeting is in the Board Room at Hereford Regional Medical Center and is open to the public……The Deaf Smith County Crisis Center will hold a ‘Community Summer Bash,’ Saturday from 12:00-5:00 at the Hereford Aquatic Park. Free hot dogs, children’s activities, raffles and door prizes are all part of the afternoon fun. Food truck, vendor and resource booth registration can still be done by calling the Deaf Smith County Crisis Center at 806-363-6727……Funeral services for Rosa Fernandez, age 75, are today at 10:00 at Nazarene Family Church. Rosa enjoyed sewing, baking and spending time with her children. She was a longtime Hereford resident who died last Sunday in Hereford……Funeral services for Robert “Pat” Hughes, age 93, are Saturday at 10:00 at Brookdale at Skyline in Colorado Springs, CO. Pat was a former Hereford resident who coached at HHS and was an assistant principal at La Plata Junior High.
