LOCAL: The City of Hereford will spray across the city for mosquitos this evening. Spraying begins at approximately 6:00 this evening and will last through midnight. The mosquito specific insecticide, Kontrol 4-4, can cause eye and skin irritation and should not be inhaled. The city will also spray next Tuesday and Thursday, June 24th and 26th……The Planning and Zoning Commission for the city meets this evening at 6:00 for a 4-item agenda in a regular session. The meeting will feature formalities and a line-item specific to 401 Austin Road. It’s at City Hall and is open to the public……Graveside services for Katherine Rogers Smith, age 105, are Saturday at 10:30 at the Friona Cemetery. Katherine was a lifelong Panhandle resident, longtime Friona resident and a former Hereford resident. She lived a life worth living, with one example being a hike to the Mt. Hood snow line in both her 80s and 90s. She died on May 23rd……The Hereford Senior Citizens is hosting a Summer Pop Up Shop at the Hereford Senior Center, at 426 Ranger, on Saturday. Vendor booths are available at 806-364-5681.
