LOCAL: The USDA announced Wednesday that they’ll build a New World Screwworm – sterile fly production facility, at Moore Air Base, in Mission, TX. The $8.5 million facility is part of a 5-part plan to aid in the prevention and eradication of the parasitic fly. The new facility, expected to be completed in 2025, would add to the nearly 160 million sterile flies produced weekly in Mexico and Panama……The HISD Board of Trustees meet for a lengthy agenda Monday evening at 6:00 at the Administration Building. They’ll look at staff compensation for the upcoming school year and consider roof repairs at several district campuses. The meeting is open to the public……Graveside services for Katherine Rogers Smith, age 105, are tomorrow morning at 10:30 at the Friona Cemetery. She died on May 23rd……Herd Tennis Camp is set for Tuesday-Thursday of next week. Camp fees vary and 3rd-5th graders meet from 9:00-10:00, 6th-8th from 10:00-12:00, and 9th-12th from 9:00-12:00.
