LOCAL: KPAN recorded .65 of an inch of rain in downtown Hereford from Tuesday evening showers and thunderstorms. The Hereford Mesonet site recorded .86 of an inch and was the 2nd highest total in the area behind Claude with a staggering 3.59 inches. Pea to marble-sized hail also fell in the city yesterday……The Lady Herd opened district-volleyball-play with a big win over Dumas yesterday, 3-0. The Lady Whitefaces came from behind in sets 2 and 3 to win 25-22, 25-22 and 25-23. Lilly Madrigal had 18 assists, Teagan Thomas had 8 kills and Kyndall Valdez added 15 digs from the back row. They’re 1-0 in district play and 13-11 on the season……The hospital district Board meets this afternoon for a 7-item agenda at 12:00 in a special session. The meeting is at the Hereford Regional Medical Center Board Room……Funeral services for Sue Andrews, age 90, will be Friday at 11:00 at the Frio Country Fellowship Church. Sue was a longtime Hereford resident and volunteer at King’s Manor for many years. She died on Monday in Amarillo…… Funeral services for Margaret Gamez, age 88, are tomorrow at 11:00 at Misión de San Jose. Margaret was a lifelong Hereford resident and member of the Guadalupana’s and volunteered with the Red Cross. Viewing is today from 4:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. She died on Monday in Hereford…… Graveside services for Jimmie “Grannie” Lee, age 94, are Saturday at 2:00 at West Park Cemetery. She worked for Austin Distributing for more than 44 years.
