LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Commissioners meet in a regular session this morning at 9:00 at the Deaf Smith County Courthouse. Commissioners will work through a 7-item agenda that includes opening fuel bids, discussing a trailer purchase and a vehicle purchase for juvenile probation. The meeting is open to the public……The hospital district Board meets tomorrow afternoon for a 7-item agenda at 12:00 in a special session. They’ll look to approve the budget and tax-rates for the upcoming fiscal year after a public hearing on the proposed budget takes place. The meeting is at the Hereford Regional Medical Center Board Room and is open to the public……Funeral services for Manuela “Melly” Castillo, age 54, are Wednesday at 2:00 at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Viewing is today from 2:00-8:00 at the funeral home. She died on Thursday in Amarillo……Funeral services for John Arthur Curtis, age 69, will be Friday at 2:00 at Avenue Baptist Church. John had worked at Carl McCaslin Lumber, Oglesby Equipment and Hereford Hardware. He’s remembered as having an unmatched level of orneriness and John especially loved his granddaughters. Visitation is Thursday from 6:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.
