LOCAL: The Homecoming Parade is today at 6:00 in Hereford. The parade will follow the normal route beginning at HHS into downtown Hereford. Homecoming Week will also feature a pep-rally on Thursday night at Whiteface Stadium at 7:00……The Herd fell to the Matadors, 33-35, Friday night at Whiteface Stadium. Lubbock Estacado was able to score a touchdown on the last play of the game to go up by two and clench the win. Hereford moves to 1-1 on the season and will host Plainview on Friday night for Homecoming……The Lady Whitefaces fell to Bushland in their final pre-district match on Saturday, 3-1. Hereford will host Dumas tomorrow night at 7:00 at Whiteface Gym for the district opener. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage with pre-game action beginning at 6:45……Deaf Smith County Commissioners meet in a regular session tomorrow morning at 9:00 at the Deaf Smith County Courthouse. Commissioners will work through a 7-item agenda that includes opening fuel bids. The meeting is open to the public……Funeral services for Manuela “Melly” Castillo, age 54, are Wednesday at 2:00 at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Melly was a former longtime Hereford resident who died on Thursday in Amarillo.
