LOCAL: In statewide unofficial election results, just 16.04% of registered voters made their way to ballot boxes in this general election. That’s 2,964,635 of the state’s 18,488,166 registered voters which bested 2023’s constitutional amendment turnout of 14.43%, but fell short of the 2005 constitutional amendment election when approximately 18% of the state’s registered voters cast ballots. Since the 2005 mark, registered voters in the state have increased from approximately 12.5 milliion to 18.5 million……Viewing for Catherine Cortez, age 91, is today from 3:00-5:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Funeral services are tomorrow at 10:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Catherine was a lifelong Hereford resident who died on Saturday……Elevated fire weather conditions exist in the southwestern Panhandle today where relative humidity values will approach single digits, winds will gust to the mid-30 mph range, and fuels are for the most part dried and primed.
