LOCAL: Voting hours last until 7:00 this evening at four polling locations in the city; the Hereford Civic Center, Caviness Sportsplex, Deaf Smith County Extension Office and the Deaf Smith County Courthouse.
Hereford Kiwanis will hold the traditional pancake supper tonight from 5:00-7:00 at the HHS cafeteria. All you can eat pancakes and sausage plates are $10. They’re requesting new socks and underwear for community children as well.
Funeral services for Arnold Ray Powell, age 81, are Wednesday afternoon at 1:30 at the First Baptist Church. Mr. Powell worked at Oglesby Equipment for 46 years among his career endeavors. Arnold died on Sunday in Amarillo.
Funeral services for Catherine Cortez, age 91, are Friday morning at 10:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Viewing is Thursday afternoon from 3:00-5:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Catherine was a longtime educator at HISD and took great joy in her relationships with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She died on Saturday.
Funeral services are pending for Danny Castillo, age 58. Mr. Castillo was a lifelong Hereford resident and 1985 HHS graduate. He died on Friday.
