LOCAL: The 5th Annual Fall Fiesta is set for this Saturday in downtown Hereford beginning at 12:00. Vendor registration is still ongoing at City Hall. Register for the 2nd Annual Cornhole tourney at 806-344-0418 and the 3rdAnnual Fall Fiesta 5k and 1 mile fun-run/walk at Hereford Sports and Wellness. The event is free to the community and will feature a variety of activities on Main Street throughout the afternoon……Xcel Energy will hold a public open house on a new proposed transmission line that will run through the area this afternoon from 5:00-7:00 at the Hereford Civic Center. The transmission lines will run through privately owned land and federal lands. The open house is a come-and-go opportunity to learn more about the project and for Xcel to gather community feedback. The Potter-Crossroads-Phantom project will run from Amarillo to southeastern New Mexico……Funeral services for David Fitzgerald, age 67, are tomorrow morning at 10:30 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. David was a longtime Hereford resident and is remembered as a loving family man who enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren how to fish among many life skills. Visitation is today from 4:00-6:00 at the funeral home.
