LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Commissioners meet this morning at 9:00 for an 11-item agenda. The regular meeting featured discussion on culvert purchases, providing fire breaks for private land owners and adopting the 2026 county calendar……Coffee Memorial Blood Center is running on dangerously low day-to-day supply levels of blood. Our Blood Institute is currently importing blood from the east coast to meet regional demand. Local donors are needed immediately and donations can be made at CMBC in Amarillo seven days a week…… Graveside services for Tony Cano, age 91, are today at 2:00 at the Angel Fire State Veteran Cemetery. Tony was a Hereford resident since the mid-70s and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He served in the Korean and Vietnam Wars……The Lady Whitefaces and Lady Harvesters of Pampa hit the court tonight for a district volleyball match at Whiteface Gym. First serve is set for 7:00 and KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage. The Lady Herd are coming off a loss to West Plains on Saturday……The Herd beat the Harvesters in the district opener in football Friday night, 31-14. The Whitefaces improve to 2-4 on the season with a 1-0 district record……Herd Cross Country’s season came to an end at the district meet Friday in Canyon. Top performers for Herd XC were Manuel Carrizales – 13th place, and Sol Lara – 34th place……The Christmas Stocking Fund has opened the application window through November 10th.
