LOCAL: A cold front has pushed through the area and dropped temps to 56° at the time of publishing this morning at 9:00. A trace of rain fell in Hereford this morning with better chances tonight through Wednesday morning. Tomorrow will feature highs just near the 60° mark in Hereford.
A Supermoon/Harvest Moon double feature occurs tonight. Peak illumination will happen at 10:45 tonight but some of the best viewing will be at the rise and set times of approximately 7:00 tonight and 7:00 tomorrow morning.
Today is the last day to register to vote ahead of the November General Election. Persons can check their status or register at votetexas.gov, and in person at the county voter registrar at the Deaf Smith County Courthouse.
Hereford High School’s Choir will perform tonight at the high school auditorium. The Fall Concert begins at 6:30.
Funeral services for Patsy King Fowler, age 84, are Thursday at 2:00 at Avenue Baptist Church. Patsy was a longtime Hereford resident and ran PDQ Signs from 1992 to 2025. Visitation is Wednesday afternoon from 6:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home.
The Mighty Maroon Band placed 5th at the High Plains Marching Festival on Saturday. The color guard was named the Best of Show. There were 21 schools in the competition.
Hereford fell to Seminole in pre-district football on Friday, 28-45. The Whitefaces move to 1-4 on the season heading into league play this Friday night in Pampa.
The Lady Herd fell to Dumas in district volleyball Saturday in 5 sets. Hereford is 3-5 in league play and now two games behind the Demonettes who have sole possession of 4th place.
