LOCAL: HISD Board of Trustees meet in a special session tonight to discuss a 4-item agenda. The board meets at 6:00 at the Administration Building and will look to approve the tax-rate for Amarillo College’s Hereford Branch among the items. The meeting is open to the public……The Lady Whitefaces are back to .500 on the district campaign with a win over Perryton on Saturday in 4-4A volleyball. Hereford won in three sets; 25-7,   28-26, and 25-13. Teagan Thomas had 15 kills in the win and Lilly Madrigal had 20 assists and 8 digs. Mia Estrada added 11 assists and Kadynce Ramirez was good for 7 digs in the win. Hereford is 3-3 heading to Randall tomorrow……Funeral services for Jane Rice, age 73, are Saturday at 11:00 at Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills Funeral Home in Lynnwood, WA. Jane was a former Hereford resident and WTAMU grad. She was a dedicated mother, artist and substitute teacher. She died on September 12th……Registration is open for the final Ogallala Commons Playa Field Day of the year which takes place on October 14th, in Bushland. The day features several speakers and a tour of the USDA-ARS Conservation & Production Research Lab. Registration deadline is October 11th, and is $25.
