LOCAL: DPS Troopers along with the DPS Criminal Investigation Division Special Agents and DEA Special Agents seized approximately 60 pounds of methamphetamine on I-40, Wednesday. A 2005 Jeep Cherokee was stopped for a traffic violation near Amarillo traveling east, when the trooper discovered plastic-wrapped bundles of the drug concealed inside the vehicle’s fuel tank. Alexis Garcia, a 28-year-old male driver, was arrested and booked into the Randall Co. Jail on felony drug charges. The drugs were reportedly being transported from Texas to Oklahoma……The Lady Whitefaces host the Perryton Rangerettes in district-volleyball tomorrow at 12:00 at Whiteface Gym. The Lady Herd are 2-3 in league play and Perryton is 0-5. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage prior to the scheduled start time……The Hereford Independent School District Board of Trustees are meeting in a special session on Monday evening at 6:00.
