LOCAL: The Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board of Directors meet this afternoon in a regular session to discuss a 12-item agenda. They’ll look at a quote from BD Alaris, a provider of medical procedure based products, hear a report on physician recruitment and a medical staff update. The meeting is at 5:30 at the HRMC Board Room……The Hereford Regional Medical Center EMS Team was named the Provider of the Year for 2025 at the Panhandle Regional Advisory Council’s annual Panhandle Regional Emergency Preparedness Conference last Thursday, September 18th, at the Amarillo Civic Center. The award was accepted by EMS Director Terry Hazlett, and the Hereford Team was chosen as the best among the 25 county service area…… Funeral services for Laura Simnacher, age 51, are today at 10:30 at the First Baptist Church. Laura was a longtime Hereford resident who died last Thursday in Amarillo……Funeral services for Wade Lewis, age 76, are today at 1:00 at the CrossRoads Country Church in Amarillo. Wade was a National Finals Rodeo winner in the steer roping in 1982. He also won the steer roping at Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo in 1982, 1984 and 1989. He managed Hereford Feedyard for 48 years.
