LOCAL: Hereford City Commissioners will meet for a regular session tonight at 6:30 at City Hall to discuss a 12-item agenda. A public hearing regarding the sale of 5 acres of land to HISD is among the items, and commissioners will look to approve that sale to the school district where the current project barns are located. Commissioners will also look to make a funding amendment of an extra $20,000 for an airport layout plan. A one-year municipal judgeship appointment of Cindy Simons will also be considered among the items……Herd Summer Camps continue this week with baseball and softball running today-Wednesday. Camps are open to incoming 3rd – 9th graders with 3rd-6th meeting from 9:00-12:00, and 7th-9th meeting from 1:00-4:00. Registration is $40 and begins 30 minutes prior to each session at the Whiteface and Lady Whiteface fields……No services are scheduled for Jovita Leyva, age 90. Jovita was a longtime Hereford resident who enjoyed needlework and embroidery. She’s remembered as a loving mother and grandmother. She died on Friday……The Texas Tech Lady Raiders beat UCLA on Saturday night, 3-1, to advance to the WCWS semifinals against Oklahoma. The first of two possible games is tonight at 6:00 in Oklahoma City.
