LOCAL: The Natural Resource Conservation Service will host their annual local work group meeting on Thursday, March 5th, at 8:30 at the Hereford Civic Center. The NRCS meeting helps determine the biggest natural resource concerns for the upcoming year and what programs might be available to assist producers with those concerns. The meeting is open to Deaf Smith County landowners and land managers……The Tierra Blanca Soil and Water Conservation District’s tree sale is underway through the end of March. The sale offers low-cost, native, and adapted bare-root options for windbreaks, wildlife habitat and conservation. Contact Barbara Finley with TBSWCD at 806-346-3741 for purchasing……Funeral services for Juan De La Cruz Jr., age 87, are today at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Juan was a longtime area resident who worked at West Texas A&M for many years. Mr. De La Cruz was in the U.S. Air Force from 1955-1959 and stationed in Panama for a number of years. He died last Tuesday……Funeral services for Maria Quintana De Ramirez, age 78, are tomorrow at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Maria was a longtime Hereford resident who died on Thursday in Amarillo. Viewing and visitation is today from 10:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home……Herd Soccer is at home against Borger tonight at 7:00 at Whiteface Stadium.
