LOCAL: HISD’s Kara Paniagua took home Best in Category for her 2025/26 HISD Calendar at this year’s Texas School Public Relations Association conference in Galveston. Kara and Adam Peña combined for three Gold Star, two Silver Star and two Bronze Star awards at last week’s ceremony……Hereford City Commissioners will meet in a regular session Monday evening at 6:30 at City Hall. They’ll work through a 12-item agenda that includes green fee and cart rental increases at John Pitman Golf Course and discuss a report from Parkhill regarding wastewater treatment plants among the items. The meeting is open to the public……The 2-7-1 Lady Herd will host the 3-6-1 Lady Harvesters of Pampa at home this afternoon in district soccer action. Hereford is coming off a loss to West Plains on Tuesday and the Lady Harvesters are coming off a loss to Borger. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage from Whiteface Stadium beginning just prior to the 5:00 start…The Herd is on the road to Pampa for a 5:00 start at Zach Thomas Field……Funeral services for Josef Grotegut, age 92, are tomorrow at 10:30 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Umbarger. Visitation is today from 6:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Joe was a longtime area resident and farmer.
