LOCAL: The 2026 Congressional Art Competition opens Monday, March 2nd. This year’s theme is America 250, and any high school student in Texas’ 13th Congressional District is invited to participate. Artwork must be two-dimensional, original in concept and execution and can be in a variety of mediums. Submissions can be made at the Amarillo office of Congressman Ronny Jackson, Monday-Friday, from 9:00-5:00. The submission deadline is April 2nd, and more information is available at jackson.house.gov or by emailing the Art Competition Coordinator, jennifer.hodges@mail.house.gov……Richard Sauceda, of Hereford, TX, made his second career hole-in-one yesterday at John Pitman Municipal Golf Club. The Ace came on Hole 3 when Richard used a 9-iron from 128 yards out. His first hole-in-one was notched last year. Weather conditions were perfect for the feat, witnessed by George and Melissa Castillo and his brother Joe……Funeral services for Thomas “Tommy” Garcia, age 55, are today at 10:00 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. Tommy was a lifelong Hereford resident who died last Friday in Amarillo…… Funeral services for Juan De La Cruz, age 87, are Tuesday at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. A visitation will take place on Monday from 6:00-8:00 at Lighthouse Funeral Home in Amarillo. Mr. De La Cruz died on Tuesday……KPAN salutes Tayler Warren as the Good Neighbor of the Day……We have roots where others have branches – First National Bank.
