LOCAL: St. Anthony’s Catholic School named Randy Friemel its’ distinguished graduate for 2026. The honor is given annually during Catholic Schools Week on behalf of the National Catholic Educational Association. Randy is an accomplished painter and was a 1982 St. Anthony’s grad. He’s been a lifelong Hereford resident for the exception of his college years spent in Canyon……Funeral services for Cruz Ybarra, age 78, are today at 11:00 San Jose Catholic Church. Cruz was a longtime Hereford resident who died on Friday……Funeral services for Mike “Strawberry” Wilson, age 76, are Saturday at 10:00 at the Hereford VFW. Mike was drafted to the U.S. Army after graduating from Hereford High School and served in the Vietnam War before returning to Hereford and working at Deaf Smith Electric for 36 years before retiring as a lineman. Mr. Wilson died on Thursday in Amarillo……KPAN will have live coverage of district basketball games from Randall High School this evening. The Lady Whitefaces and Lady Raiders play first at 6:00 and the boys will follow at approximately 7:30……Herd Soccer is at home today taking on the Rangers of Perryton.
