LOCAL: The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board is doling out $9.9 million to higher education institutions to create, redesign, and expand industry-aligned training programs in high-demand business and technology fields. Amarillo College has received $500,000 through the Texas Reskilling and Upskilling through Education Grant Program. It will allow AC to expand short-term workforce training in AI, data center and cybersecurity industries……Funeral services for James Clarke, age 94, will be Saturday at 1:00 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Canyon. Jim was a four year letterman for the Texas Tech Red Raider Football Team in 1949, ’50, ’55 and ’56. He served in the Navy from 1951-1955 and was stationed in both North Africa and Cuba. He ran Jim’s Plumbing in Hereford for many years and eventually ran a Texas Farm Bureau Insurance Agency until his retirement. He died on December 7th……A winter storm system is set to impact the area later today with precipitation chances and colder weather in-store. The Hereford area should see a mix of rain and snow lasting through Friday night.
