LOCAL: Our Blood Institute – Coffee Memorial Blood Center is in critical need of type O blood donors. For the past three years supplies have dropped to critically low levels requiring an emergency appeal in early January. O blood types play critical rolls in emergency care. Dr. John Armitage, president and CEO of OBI says, “Without O blood donors, emergency care simply cannot function at the level our communities depend on and deserve.” CMBC takes donations daily in Amarillo at 7500 Wallace Blvd……The Hereford Lions Club is taking nominations for the Citizen of the Year. Nominating letters can be mailed to P.O. Box 761 in Hereford, or emailed to herefordlionsclub@gmail.com. The Citizen of the Year will be announced at the Deaf Smith County Chamber of Commerce banquet on January 31st……Varsity basketball teams went 1-1 against Pampa last night at Whiteface Gym. The Lady Herd would get a convincing, 57-33, win over Pampa and move to 3-1 in district play. The Herd rallied late but fell short of the Harvesters, 68-56.
