LOCAL: The City of Hereford is urging residents to avoid making contact with wild birds that appear sick, injured or unusually tame as avian influenza continues to affect wild bird populations in the area. The safest action is to leave the bird and call Animal Control at 806-240-1475. The notice issued by the city yesterday states moving an infected bird can put other wildlife and people at risk……The Christmas Stocking fund is nearing the $25,000 mark in donations received this December. The Homer Family continued a giving tradition with a $5,000 gift to the CSF on Monday. Donations can be made at FirstBank Southwest through the end of the month……A cold front traversed the area overnight and has brought cooler temps with it for today. Winds picked up overnight behind the frontal boundary and peaked out of the northeast at 35 mph at 3:30 in Hereford.
