LOCAL: The HISD Board of Trustees approved the 2025-26 tax-rate at last week’s meeting of $0.8061 cents. That’s an increase over last year’s rate of $0.7845 per $100 valuation. The Board will meet Thursday at 12:00 in a special session to hold a public hearing regarding Amarillo College’s Hereford Branch tax-rate……County commissioners are meeting this morning at 9:00 for a lengthy, 13-item, agenda. They’ll look to approve the budget and tax-rates for the upcoming fiscal year……Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board of Trustees meet in a regular session tomorrow afternoon at 5:30, at the HRMC Board Room. The Board will work through a 13-item agenda that includes a public hearing and possible approval of the upcoming fiscal year budget and tax-rate. The meeting is open to the public……Herd Tennis is back in district action today against West Plains. The Whitefaces and the Wolves hit the courts at 4:00 this afternoon at West Plains High School……Herd Cross Country opened the season in Clovis over the weekend and both varsity squads finished on the podium as a team, taking home 2nd place……KPAN recorded .18 of an inch of rain at the downtown studios this morning.
