LOCAL: A retirement celebration will be held today honoring John Stagner. John has sold cars in Hereford for 46 years, and the last 28 years at Steven’s 5 Star Car and Truck Center. He’s shifting gears and turning in the keys. The come-and-go reception is from 2:00-5:00 at Steven’s, at 545 N 25 Mile Avenue. Friends and customers are invited……The 12u Hereford All-Stars won the West Texas Babe Ruth Softball State Tournament over the weekend in Hereford. They competed in a pool of 9 teams and went 5-0, outscoring their opponents 60-8. The team now heads to the 2025 Southwest Regionals in Monroe, LA, on July 16th……Funeral services for Juan Manuel “Meme” Torres Garza, age 55, are tomorrow morning at 10:00 at Good News Church. Meme was a skilled woodworker and excellent marksman. He owned and operated Triple R Construction with his wife, Peggy, in Hondo, TX. He was a former Hereford resident who died on June 15th. The family will receive guests today at 822 Baltimore Dr……The Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board of Directors meet for an 11-item agenda this afternoon at 5:30.
