LOCAL: Deaf Smith County Commissioners will meet in a regular session, tomorrow morning at 9:00, for a 13-item agenda. They’ll discuss formalities then open bids for seal coating jobs, discuss county roads in Precincts 1 & 2, and discuss several items relating to the Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office. The meeting is at the courthouse and is open to the public.

Brandon Ysaguirre qualified for the State Tennis Tournament with a 3rd place finish at regionals last week. Brandon will face Tyler Youens (Wimberly HS) on Thursday in the first round of play. Matches begin at 8:00 at the Annemarie Tennis Center in San Antonio.

HHS senior Karizma Treviño signed her intent to play volleyball with Clarendon College last week. Karizma will join the Lady Bulldogs for the fall season.

Funeral services for Derrill Carroll, age 84, are tomorrow at 2:00 at the Avenue Baptist Church. Derrill was a 1959 HHS graduate and owned and operated A1 Pest Control for more than 50 years. Mr. Carroll was also a longtime deputy for the Deaf Smith County Sherriff’s Office. He died on Saturday in Hereford.

Funeral services for Leticia Sanchez, age 74, are Friday at 11:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Leticia was a longtime Hereford resident and homemaker. Visitation is Thursday from 1:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. She died on Thursday in Hereford.
