LOCAL: The Texas Department of State Health Services released an update regarding the South Plains Measles Outbreak yesterday. Since late January more than 500 cases have been confirmed with the majority of those – 328 – in Gaines County. The release comes two days after another death was reported from the disease in Texas, which now has been the cause of two deaths, both children. Confirmed cases in Dallam County have reached 7, and Randall and Lamb counties are now listed with 1 confirmed case each……The Burn Ban in Deaf Smith County was lifted yesterday in a regular meeting of county commissioners. Although Deaf Smith County remains under a D0, first drought level classification, the latest map does not account for precipitation from last week……Funeral services for Delfina Pesina, age 103, will be Thursday at 2:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Viewing is today from 4:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home……Funeral services for Emeregildo “E.P.” Rodriguez, age 77, are Friday at 2:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Visitation is tomorrow from 4:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins. Mr. Rodriguez died on Friday……Funeral services for Judy Patterson Brown, age 84, are Sunday at 1:00 at the Lake Tanglewood Clubhouse. Visitation is Sunday morning at 10:00 at Parkside Chapel Funeral Home……The Lady Herd fell to Pampa in district softball yesterday, 13-1.
