LOCAL: The Deaf Smith County Extension Office is holding an “Auxin Training” today from 11:00-12:00. The training is for the use of approved 2,4-D herbicides and dicamba updates. The fee is $15 and the class will be at their office at 903 14th Street……Friends of the Library open their annual Book Sale tomorrow afternoon to members from 5:00-7:00. The bargain sale features hardbacks, paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, audiobooks, children’s books and encyclopedias. Proceeds benefit a variety of library programs……No services will be held for Dr. Clifford Skiles, age 80. Cliff was a former longtime Hereford resident who moved to town in 1970 and founded Livestock Health Products. His working life was centered around the ag industry with his greatest passion being ranching. He died on Monday……Funeral services for Kenney Hagar, age 75, are tomorrow at 10:00 at the First Baptist Church. Visitation is today from 5:00-7:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home……Funeral services for Alice San Miguel, age 63, are at 2:00 Saturday at the Hereford Senior Center……Coffee Memorial Blood Center says their blood supply remains at critically low levels. Recent weather impacts have cancelled local blood drives and they’re asking for anyone in the Amarillo area who is eligible to stop by and donate.
