LOCAL: Lady Whiteface Wrestling took 2nd place as a team at the Lady Don Tournament at Palo Duro over the weekend. Maira Villarreal and Mareetza Maceda both took home gold medals. Other podium finishers for the Herd included Valori Porter, Lyla Zambrano, Layla Ortiz and Abrielle Valley……Herd Basketball is on the road to Borger for a pair of district games this evening. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage of the girls game with a 6:00 tipoff and the guys to follow……Herd Soccer is at home today hosting West Plains. Girls play at 5:00 and the guys will follow at Whiteface Stadium…….Deaf Smith County Commissioners meet this morning for an 8-item agenda at 9:00. They’ll discuss jail operations and look to approve a multi-use agreement with TxDOT among the items……Funeral services for Nelda Cardenas, age 72, are today at 2:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Nelda was a longtime Hereford resident who died on Wednesday in Hereford. Visitation is at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home from 10:00-1:00 today……An approaching low pressure system is taking fast track through the area which will limit our winter weather impacts. Rainfall and sleet are the most favored precipitation types which begin tonight and last through Thursday morning.
