LOCAL: The Khuri Foundation has expanded its scholarship program to boost local healthcare staff. The scholarships are available to Deaf Smith County residents who are enrolled or accepted in an accredited program, demonstrate a financial need and commit to working locally for two years post-graduation. Donations to the foundation can also be made online or in person……Funeral services for Susan Perrin, age 76, are today at 11:00 at the First Presbyterian Church in Amarillo. Susan was a longtime Hereford resident and educator who died last Tuesday in Amarillo……Funeral services for Teresa “Tere” Treviño, age 90, are tomorrow at 11:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. Tere was a longtime Hereford resident who enjoyed dancing and playing bingo, and winning in games against her grandchildren. She leaves a legacy of 109 grand, great and great-great grandchildren. Visitation is today from 3:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins. She died on Friday in Hereford……Funeral services for Russell “Rusty” Collier, age 62, are Friday at 2:00 at the First Baptist Church. Rusty was born and raised in Hereford and moved back here in 2010 to farm. He enjoyed fishing with his wife and driving mountain roads, but most of all being “Paps” to his grandchildren. Rusty died on Sunday in Seminole……Registration is open for winter basketball and indoor soccer leagues at Hereford Sports and Wellness.
