LOCAL: The Lady Whitefaces and the San Elizario Lady Eagles are in the second round of playoff volleyball this afternoon at Denver City High School Gym. Match-time is set for 4:00 and KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage at 3:50……The Whitefaces can clench a District Championship with an 11-point-or-more win over the West Plains Wolves tonight in the district finale. If West Plains wins, they’re the No. 1 seed out of 2-4A. KPAN will re-transmit the Texas Panhandle Sports Network broadcast until the KPAN Krew is on-site in Canyon. The West Texas Countdown to Kickoff will begin at 6:30 followed by a visit with Coach Naron before the live play-by-play is fed this way from Happy State Bank Stadium. Kickoff is at 7:00. Fans be aware the stadium is cashless……Funeral services for Patricia Montgomery, age 93, are Saturday morning at 10:30 at the First Baptist Church. Patricia was a longtime educator and was named the Teacher of the Year at Stanton Junior High in 1978. She died on Sunday……The San Jose Community is under a Boil Water notice. Water for human and pet consumption and use should reach a boil and continue to boil for at least one minute, then cooled……Several feet of snow is expected from Las Vegas to the Enchanted Circle in northern New Mexico.
