LOCAL: The Lady Whitefaces clenched a playoff berth when they swept the Demonettes on Saturday for the fourth and final spot out of 4-4A. Hereford won in three sets with scores of 25-17, 25-20 and 26-24. The Lady Whitefaces now head to the bi-district volleyball playoff round against Midland Greenwood tomorrow evening in Denver City. First serve is at 6:00 and KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage……Hereford City Commissioners are meeting at 6:30 tonight to discuss a 7-item agenda. The regular session meeting is open to the public for the exception of a tabbed executive session to discuss legal matters related to the baseball/softball complex……Funeral services for Pat Hagemeier, age 62, are today at 11:00 at the Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home Chapel. Pat was a longtime Hereford resident and 1979 HHS graduate. He worked for the Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s office for 30 years as a deputy. He died last Saturday in Dolores, Colorado……Funeral services for Jane Packard, age 93, are tomorrow at 10:00 at the Central Church of Christ. A visitation is today from 6:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins……The Herd beat the Eagles of Canyon Friday night, 30-21. Hereford clenched a playoff berth with the district win and move to 3-1 in league play……Texas Tech upset Iowa State in BigXII action Saturday, 23-22……KPAN recorded 2.93 inches of rain from early Saturday morning through 7:00 today.
