LOCAL: Herd Tennis dropped the district opener to Canyon yesterday, 5-14. The Whitefaces are turning around quickly and hitting the road to Dumas tomorrow to continue the district campaign and face the Demons. First serve is at 9:00 tomorrow morning……A fatal accident 8 miles north of Dalhart on Wednesday morning claimed the lives of a 19-year-old and 29-year-old from Dalhart. Benjamin Lux, age 19, and Camaja Ortiz, age 29, were unsecured passengers in a single-vehicle-rollover and were ejected during the crash on Highway 385. The crash occurred at approximately 5:40 AM in the northbound lane. The driver, 18-year-old Jose Quinilla, was wearing a seat belt and was transported to Coon Memorial Hospital with serious injuries……Funeral services for Emilio Cantú, age 70, will be Monday morning at 10:00 at San Jose Catholic Church. A family and friend visitation is being held Sunday afternoon from 3:00-8:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. Emilio was a longtime Hereford resident and 1971 HHS graduate……Registration is underway for the 47th Annual Randall County Ag-day and Crops Tour. The event will take place from 8:30-4:00 at the Kuhlman Extension Center in Canyon.
