LOCAL: Tomorrow morning the Texas Department of Public Safety will honor the late Trooper Matthew Dewayne Myrick with a boat naming ceremony in Amarillo. Trooper Myrick lost his life responding to a call on January 20th, 2006 on the southside of Hereford. In April of 2021, a portion of Highway 60 was renamed as a Memorial Highway in his honor from the east side of Hereford to Randall County. The ceremony is open to the public tomorrow morning at the Panhandle War Memorial on Georgia Street at 10:00. The address is 4111 Georgia Street……The Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board of Directors will meet at 5:30 this afternoon to discuss an 11-item agenda. An executive session is tabbed to discuss personnel matters among the items. The regular session is held in the Education Room at Hereford Regional Medical Center……More forecast models are predicting scorching temps around the corner. The seven-day forecast has afternoon highs in the triple digits Sunday-Wednesday of next week, with no relief on the horizon.
