LOCAL: Ella Dudley took the District Championship in girls’ singles tennis yesterday in Amarillo. Ella beat Lauren Brooks, of Canyon, 6-3, 7-6 (4). Brandon Ysaguirre and Macy Betzen took 2nd place in mixed doubles, falling to Scout Adams and Cooper Richardson of West Plains in the finals, 7-6 (6), 6-3. The pair won a playback and will advance to the Regional Tournament next weekend in Lubbock along with Dudley. Will Sims and Kevin Garcia brought home bronze medals in boys’ doubles, and Izayus Fuentes also brings home a bronze medal in boys’ singles……The Hereford Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors meets today at 4:30 for a regular session to discuss a 7-item agenda. They’ll run through several formalities before hearing a report from HEDC Executive Director, Kurt Jones. The meeting is at the Executive Conference Room at the Hereford Civic Center and is open to the public……The Hereford Senior Citizen Association is holding their 5th Annual Kentucky Derby Gala this Saturday night at the Senior Center.
