LOCAL: Hereford City Commissioners will meet in a regular session on Monday evening for a 13-item agenda. The lengthy agenda includes an introduction of the new K-9 Police Officer at Hereford Police Department, the consideration of approval of Todd Murray to the Fire Marshall position and a façade improvement grant from Salon de Fiesta El Tapatio at 122 Main. The meeting is at 6:30 at City Hall in downtown and is open to the public……Several Whiteface tracksters advanced out of Area yesterday to the Regional Meet. Luis Garcia took the top spot in Discus for the Area Championship, tossing a 144’ 3”. Arnulfo Salazar ran a PR 1:59:59 to place 2nd in the 800m and Izak Dominguez ran a PR 15.11 to place 3rd in the 110m Hurdles. Brayden Escamilla came in 2nd in the 400m and Jeremiah Martinez placed 2nd in the Shot Put. The 4x200m Relay Team of Levi Gaytan, Jose Almaraz, Brayden Escamilla and Nick Torres were a hair behind Dumas in 4th to also punch their ticket to the next round of post-season competition……The Herd and the Wolves are in action on the diamond today for a district show at 5:00 this afternoon. Hereford is coming off a Monday afternoon win over Dumas while the Wolves are coming off an extra-innings-loss to Randall on Monday.
