LOCAL: The latest U.S. Drought Monitor Map shows no change to conditions in Deaf Smith County. In Deaf Smith, just over ¼ of the western portion of the county, or 28.73% is in the D1 category, while the remainder is in the least severe D0 category. Elevated fire weather conditions exist through Sunday with warm temps, low relative humidity values and breezy to windy conditions on the High Plains……The 2-3 Whitefaces take on a 2-3 Perryton team in district baseball this afternoon. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage from Whiteface Field at 12:50. First pitch of the home matchup is set for 1:00……The 3-4 Lady Whitefaces will also play host to the 2-5 Perryton Rangerettes in district softball today. That game is also moved up to a 1:00 start at Lady Whiteface Field……The Hereford Food Pantry is closed in observance of Good Friday and will re-open on Monday……The Deaf Smith County Library is also closed in observance of Good Friday today……City Commissioners will meet for a regular session on Monday night at 6:30 at City Hall for an 11-item agenda. Prior to the meeting, they’ll take a tour of the new baseball/softball complex on South Kingwood at 5:45 for their regular work session.
