LOCAL: The Texas Panhandle Rural Nursing Education Consortium was named this year’s Outstanding Rural Health Program by the National Rural Health Association. The consortium is comprised of 5 area hospitals including Hereford Regional Medical Center, along with three educational institutions including Amarillo College and WTAMU. The award honors the consortium’s aim to address the nursing shortage and increase education to nurses in the Panhandle. The award ceremony takes place in early May in New Orleans……Deaf Smith County Hospital District Board members will meet in a regular session this afternoon at 5:30 for an 11-item agenda. The meeting is open to the public at the HRMC Board Room……The 2024 Hereford Invitational Track Meet is today at Whiteface Stadium. Several area teams are competing in the boys and girls meet. Field events begin at 1:30 this afternoon, running heats start at 2:00 with finals at 6:00 this evening……Above average temps are in-store through the weekend when 80s will be reached in many parts of the Panhandle.
