LOCAL: A 38 year-old Hereford man, Jonathan Claudio, led law enforcement officers on a lengthy high speed chase throughout the city of Hereford on Wednesday afternoon. Claudio fled a traffic stop before stealing a vehicle and leading officers from the Hereford Police Department, Deaf Smith County Sheriff’s Office and Texas DPS on the chase that ended with his arrest in the 400 Block of Ave. E. He was booked in the Deaf Smith County Jail on 8 outstanding felony warrants, and new charges including aggravated assault on a public servant, evading arrest with a vehicle and attempted burglary……The Lady Whitefaces continued their hot start to district play with a 7-2 win over Pampa yesterday afternoon. They’re the last unbeaten in 4-4A at 3-0. KPAN AM-FM will have live coverage at 12:00 tomorrow from Lady Whiteface Field when they take on Dumas…… Kalub Ramirez struck out 14 in the Herd’s district-opener against Pampa yesterday. Backed by a 6-run offensive performance, the Herd cruised to a 1-0 start in league play. They’re at home against the Demons of Dumas at 1:00 tomorrow afternoon……Funeral services for Tom Sargent, age 77, are Monday at 1:00 at the First Baptist Church. Tom was a longtime Hereford resident and farmed north of Hereford for many years. Visitation is Sunday from 4:00-6:00 at Mendez and Mullins Family Funeral Home. He died on Tuesday in Hereford……The Red Raiders and Houston Cougars are in BigXII tourney action at 6:00 today.
