LOCAL: Today is Election Day for Texans and voters will have a final chance to cast ballots in the party-specific-primary. The Republican ballot features several local races, a state congressional seat and 13 propositions gauging voter sentiment on several Texas GOP issues. Deaf Smith County Sheriff J Dale Butler is challenged by Esrael Silva in the DSC Sheriff race, incumbent Precinct 1 County Commissioner Chris Matthews is challenged by Carson Blair, and County Commission Precinct 3 will see Kevin Brown, Shane Kapka and Daniel Jesko face off for that seat. Polls are open until 7:00 this evening at the DSC Extension Office, the Hereford Civic Center, the Caviness Sportsplex and the Deaf Smith County Courthouse……The Hereford Lions Club is holding their Pancake Supper from 5:00-7:00 this afternoon at the Hereford High School Cafeteria. Tickets are $8 and takeout is available. A live and silent auction will feature a variety of items and the live auction begins at 6:00……The Hereford Food Pantry is open today and tomorrow from 9:00-12:00 each day for donations drop-offs……Outdoor sirens in the city will be tested tomorrow at 9:00.
