LOCAL: Hereford City Commissioners will meet in a regular session at 6:30 this evening at City Hall to work through a 12-item agenda. They’ll consider sidewalk and parking renovations in the 500 block of Main Street, look to appoint members to the Baseball/Softball Complex Advisory Board and discuss proposed rules for allowing alcohol at the Hereford Civic Center among the items. The meeting is open to the public……The Deaf Smith County Grand Jury met last week and indicted 9 people to stand trial on felony charges. Among the charges were possession of a controlled substance between 4-200 grams, felony assault and possession of marijuana between 4 ounces and 5 pounds……Funeral services for Carl “Dean” Newberry, age 74, are tomorrow at 11:00 at the Parkside Chapel Funeral Home Chapel. Dean was a longtime Hereford resident who worked in ag sales for many years before starting a real estate business. A visitation is today from 10:00-5:00 at Parkside Chapel. Mr. Newberry died last Thursday……Gold Star Dairy won a 2023 Harley Davidson Breakout 117 at yesterday’s St. Anthony’s Catholic School PTO Auction.
